Saint Mary's cruised to a Saturday victory over San Francisco.
SAN FRANCISCO — Saint Mary's made quick work of the Dons in their conference opener by winning each set against their Bay Area rival.
Hind Abdelouahid and Mariia Kozyreva won once again as the Gaels' top tandem with a 6-2 decision. The duo is now 4-1 this spring and have won three straight sets. Clementine Clement and Chloe Goyette sealed the doubles' point with a 6-3 victory on Court 2.
Saint Mary's dropped only total six points in their three singles wins and led in all six matches. Kozyreva, Clement, and Liesl Pieters all won 6-1, 6-1 on Courts 1, 3, and 6, respectively. Kozyreva advanced to 6-2 on the year with the win and the team improved to 21-22 in singles action.
