BASE | Construction Begins on Player Development Center

MORAGA, Calif. – Construction is underway on the the Baseball Player Development Center located down the left field line of Louis Guisto Field.
The Baseball Player Development Center will be completed before the start of the 2020 season and will house a number of different features designed to target hitting and pitching development among Gael student-athletes.
"Flipping those lights on to hit when no one is watching is about more than just taking swings," said head coach Greg Moore. "It's committing to the extra effort it takes to excel. I'm grateful to everyone involved in putting this project together that the players will now have a place to be productive at all hours and in any weather."
Saint Mary's ended the 2019 season with a record of 35-22 including a sweep of Washington State which was the first time in program history that Saint Mary's swept a Pac-12 team. The team has recorded four consecutive 30-win seasons, totaling 136 wins during that stretch. This past season, SMC came up just one game short of a WCC Championship title, falling in the championship game to LMU.
The Gaels also had three players taken in the first 15 rounds of the MLB draft this past season including Ken Waldichuk, (New York Yankees, 4th Round), Kevin Milam (New York Yankees, 14th Round), and Joe Vranesh (Los Angeles Dodgers, 15th Round).
