No. 68 Maria Kozyreva advanced to the finals of her bracket on Sunday.
BERKELEY, Calif. — Saint Mary's completed their first tournament of the fall on Sunday at the Cal Fall Invitational with seven matches including Mariia Kozyreva's Blue Flight finals singles match.
Kozyreva advanced to the finals of her draw after defeating Valentina Ivanov from Cal in the semis, 6-4, 6-4. The junior then faced another Golden Bear, No. 24 Julia Rosenqvist, in the finals but would ultimately finish runner-up after a 6-4, 6-3 defeat.
Kozyreva and McIntyre ganged up on the doubles consolation courts for a resounding 8-1 win over Mushika/Bui from USF. Jordan Harris and Gabriela Tevez also took home a big win over Nevada's duo of Turulja/Shikanova, 8-3.
Harris and Tevez picked up wins in consolation singles as well on Sunday with straight set victories. Harris defeated Nevada's Carlo Del Barrio 6-1, 6-2 while the freshman Tevez won 6-1, 6-1 over Nadine del Carmen from Santa Clara.
