WTEN | Gaels Begin Spring Season in Berkeley

BERKELEY, Calif. — Saint Mary's began their spring schedule this week at the three-day Cal Winter Invite tournament against No. 17 California and Cal Poly.

In the tournament, SMC picked up a few close doubles wins against the Mustangs. Newcomer Lene Mari Hovda and Liesl Pieters took down the tandem of Boyden/Bouquet 8-6 while Danielle McIntyre and Aubane Ville defeated Dunkle/LaMette in a tiebreaker, 8-7(3).

The Gaels return back to the courts on Jan. 31 as they face USC on the road. Saint Mary's will play their first home match on Feb. 21 against San Jose State.
