MTEN | Gaels Open Spring Play Tomorrow

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's men's tennis begins their spring schedule this weekend with a match against Sacramento State on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Admission to the event as well as all future home matches are free.

Damon Kesaris will look to lead the team this spring after an excellent fall which saw him finish runner-up at the ITA Fall Championships in Newport Beach. Kesaris is now ranked No. 20 in the country in singles. James Watt also returns for his sophomore season after spending much of his freshman campaign at the top of the Gaels' singles pecking order. Watt was an All-WCC honorable mention last year.

Saint Mary's returns six others from last year's roster as well as new additions in transfer Karlo Divkovic and freshmen Caelan Potts, Felipe Rincon, and Nick Combs.

The Hornets were 9-12 overall last season but 7-3 in conference play. Sac State is 1-1 already this year with a win against Eastern Washington (5-2) and a loss versus Pepperdine (0-7). Hermont Legaspi is the team's top singles player and was 13-7 in singles matches last year.
