

TEN | Saint Mary's Earns All-Academic Status, Multiple Scholar-Athletes

MORAGA, Calif. — The ITA recently announced their All-Academic teams and Scholar-Athlete lists with Saint Mary's well represented in both the women's and men's side. A total of seven Gaels were named Scholar-Athletes and both teams were named All-Academics.
To be named a Scholar-Athletes, student-athletes needed a 3.5 GPA or higher for the academic year. Teams were honored as All-Academic if their cumulative GPA among all varsity athletes was above 3.2.
The women's side had six Scholar-Athletes recognized for their academic achievements: Chloe Goyette, Lene Mari Hovda, Danielle McIntyre, Gabriela Tevez, Aubane Ville, and Brunia Boliscar. As a team, the Gaels posted an incredible 3.76 GPA in the spring which was the highest spring GPA of all 16 teams at Saint Mary's.
In addition to the men's team also earning All-Academic honors, Andy Watterson was selected as a Scholar-Athlete. The men's team recorded the highest cumulative GPA in the department this school year at 3.58 and Watterson was the group's highest performer with a 3.70 GPA while studying politics.
In total, 1,430 women's and 979 men's DI student-athletes were honored as Scholar-Athletes by the ITA. 244 women's programs and 186 men's programs received All-Academic status as well.
