Biography

AS A SENIOR (2022-2023)
Hovda had a great final season with the Gaels, posting a 7-8 overall singles record…12-7 overall doubles record with her partner Jordan Harris…Hovda had numerous three set victories over the course of the season, with one of her best victories coming in the Gaels comeback against Portland, where Hovda lost the first set before storming back to win the next two… finished as #78 ranked doubles team in the country by ITA…named as WCC Doubles Team of the Week during week of March 21…named to WCC All-Academic Team with a 3.93 GPA as a business administration major…named to the CSC All-District team

AS A SOPHOMORE (2020-21): Totaled five appearances in both singles and doubles as a sophomore … missed time due to injury … named ITA Scholar Athlete for a 3.84 GPA during the school year … went 2-2 in singles and 3-1 in doubles … appeared as the Gaels’ No. 2 singles in three of her five matches … both singles wins came in WCC action … took a win in doubles alongside Jordan Harris against No. 5 Pepperdine on court 3 … won in both singles and doubles against Pacific and Portland.


AS A FRESHMAN (2019-20): Played in every match as a true freshman … joined the team prior to the spring season … made her debut at USC where she teamed up with Gabriela Tevez for a 7-6 win … played the entire season as the team’s No. 3 singles player … had the best record on the team at 6-3 … went 4-6 in doubles … won six of her last seven singles matches … named SMC Student-Athlete of the Week after taking straight set wins against Oregon and Fresno State.
