MSOC | Schacht Earns Spot on MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List

MORAGA, Calif. — Gaels' midfielder Sebastian Schacht has been named to the MAC Hermann Watch List today as announced by United Soccer Coaches. The MAC Hermann Trophy is awarded to the nation's top male and female collegiate soccer athlete every year.
Schacht was one of just 34 players named to the preseason watch list. He joins Loyola Marymount's Gerardo Lopez as the only other student-athlete from the West Coast Conference to make the prestigious list.
Schacht has been a standout on the Gaels' roster since arriving on campus prior to the 2018 season. He was named WCC Freshman of the Year in 2018 and earned All-WCC First Team honors and All-West Region Second Team Honors from United Soccer Coaches last year. He was also recently named one of Top Drawer Soccer's top-10 midfielders in the nation over the summer.
The junior has played in and started 37 matches across his first two seasons, missing just one match due to injury last year, and has four goals and eight assists during that time.
Last year, four different Saint Mary's players were selected to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. Forward Anders Engebretsen was a semifinalist for the award.
