THE SEASON IS HERE
The Gaels are just two seasons removed from eight straight 20-plus-win campaigns and look to return to their winning ways in the 2021-22 season. The team's returners include sophomore Ellie Croco who was named to the WCC All-Freshman Team last season, after she averaged 8.3 points per game during the 18-game conference slate. During those 18 WCC games, Croco shot the ball at a 42.5% clip, with a 37.8% shooting percentage from three-point range.

The current squad also returns seniors Madeline Holland and Taycee Wedin who earned WCC All-Conference Honorable Mentions last season.

Holland was second on the team with 11.3 points per game last season, and again did a bit of everything for the Gaels, shooting 46.2% from the field, 38% from beyond the arc, averaged 3.8 rebounds per game, nearly 2.5 assists per game, and nearly 1 steal per game. Holland reached multiple milestones over the course of the season, including becoming the 24th player in program history to reach 1,000 points. She also took over second place in the record book in career assists, and actively stands six away from 400.

Wedin was named WCC Honorable mention for the second season in a row. The Milwaukie, Oregon native finished second in the WCC in both three-pointers made (64) and 3FG% (39.3%). On 13 different occasions this season, Wedin hit at least three triples in a game, with ten of those coming in WCC games. She has made 212 three-pointers in her career, good for second-best in program history and tied for tenth-best in WCC history.

The newcomers include freshman Makena Mastora of St. Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda, Keyna Hadley out of Palmdale, Aspen Garrison from Bellingham, Wash., and Addison Wedin of Milwaukie, Ore. who is the younger sister of Taycee.

Mastora was heavily decorated guard that has earned a host of awards over her varsity career,
including MVP of the Bay Counties League. Hadley was a four-time participant in the CIF Southern Section Championships and as a senior averaged over 14 points and almost six rebounds per game.

The younger Wedin averaged over 20 points and four rebounds per game and was named Oregon 5A First Team All-State two straight seasons, and Garrison averaged 14 points and eight rebounds per game, while being named First Team All-Northwest Conference in her last full season.

ABOUT NEVADA
Nevada's Kylie Jimenez was named the Mountain West Preseason Newcomer of the Year after transferring from Portland State, and is the sister of Wolf Pack guard Alyssa Jimenez. Kylie played a big role for the Portland State Vikings the past four seasons as she tied the school record with 122 starts.

Throughout her career, the 5-foot-6 guard earned many accolades including Big Sky Freshman of the Year, All-Big Sky Third Team twice, an All-Big Sky honorable mention, a Big Sky Player of the Week honor, and was named to the 2019 All-Big Sky Tournament team. She helped her team to a 25-win season during her sophomore campaign, a Big Sky Tournament Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Head coach Amanda Levens enters her fifth year with the Pack, returning 14 players and welcoming five newcomers. Nevada returns leading scorer and All-Mountain West selection Da'Ja Hamilton. Hamilton posted the third-most points in a single game in the Mountain West during the 2020-21 season after scoring 32 against UNLV on Feb. 1. The Pack was selected to finish eighth in the conference preseason voting.
