WTEN | Saint Mary's Defeats Aggies for Second Straight Win

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (2-2) went down to the wire with UC Davis on Saturday but pulled out the victory thanks to a three-set tiebreaker win by Danielle McIntyre in singles play.
Saint Mary's claimed the doubles point to kick off the match by getting wins on courts 1 and 3. Jocelyn Massey and Aubane Ville cruised to a 6-0 decision as the Gaels' No. 3 tandem before Mariia Kozyreva and McIntyre sealed the point on court 1 with a close 6-4 win.
Jordan Harris got the Gaels started in singles with a win over UC Davis's No. 2 singles player Michelle Zell, 6-3, 6-1. Kozyreva also defeated her opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 to put SMC up 3-0 and just one win away from taking the match.
The Aggies stormed back with three consecutive wins however to tie things up at 3-all. McIntyre faced off with Shirley Hall on court 3 and played three close sets but emerged victorious. The senior went 7-5, 4-6, and 7-6 (4) for the match-clinching win.
