SB | Sofia Earle Named All-Region by NFCA

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released their All-Region teams this morning and for the first time in her career Saint Mary's pitcher Sofia Earle was selected to a team. Earle was one of 380 student-athletes recognized by the NFCA and landed on the Pacific region's Third Team.
Earle was the Gaels' best starting pitcher this season and she wrapped up her junior campaign with a 2.92 ERA across 103 innings. The left-hander led the conference in strikeouts per seven innings and totaled 123. Earle threw six complete games including an 11-strikeout performance against Sacramento State on Feb. 19 and a 5-inning one-hit shutout against Santa Clara on Apr. 23.
The honor for Earle is her second notable selection this spring after being named to the All-West Coast Conference Second Team earlier this week. She was one of four members from the WCC to be selected to either the First, Second, or Third Team by the NFCA -- the other three student-athletes hail from BYU.
The junior also became Saint Mary's first All-Region player since Sarah Lira was selected in 2014.
