WTEN | Gaels Excite in Third Day of ITA Championship

STANFORD, Calif. – After a busy Saturday, the Gaels hit the courts again on Sunday afternoon, which saw multiple Gaels compete in the singles consolation bracket.
After a solid Saturday, sophomore Olivia Rook faced off against Cal State Fresno's Matilde Magrini. Rook started hot and never looked back, winning 6-4, 6-4.
Her Gaels teammate Jordan Harris was busy in the single's bracket as well as she took on Cal State Fresno's Carlotta Nonnis Marzano. Harris played lights out, beating Marzano 6-0, 6-1.
Jamie Pope and Stefanie Silva were also busy on the courts Sunday morning, as they each faced off against players from Eastern Washington. Pope played Kenzington Mann where she was bested 6-2, 6-2.
Stefanie Silva battled Isabella Foshee, an exciting match that saw Foshee win a tiebreak in the second set. The Eastern Washington player won the first set 6-1, before Silva bounce back to win the second set 7-5. The two went to a tiebreak, which saw Silva bested 10-7.
Gabriela Tevez took her match to a second set tiebreak, taking on Cal State Fresno's Mariia Vyshkina. Tevez started hot, winning the opening set 6-4. Vyshkina bounced back in the second set to win 6-3. Tevez got off to a quick start in the tiebreak, before Vyshkina battled back to win 10-7.
On the double's side, Stefanie Silva and Oliva Rook took on San Jose State's Jovana Babic and Olaya Bances Iglesias. The Gaels pairing started off quick and never looked back, winning 8-4.
Jordan Harris and Lene Mari Hovda were in on the double's action as well, taking on Cal Poly's Misha Berry and Shreya Ravilla. Harris and Hovda took it to the Mustangs duo, thrashing them 8-1.
