DAVIS, Calif. – Saint Mary's Men's Tennis played in the Aggie Invitational at UC Davis this past weekend, getting some valuable experience for their younger players in the process.

The Gaels weren't able to get a win in the first round of the tournament; however, Sophomore
Diego Jarry took three-seed Ryan Torres of UC Davis to three sets, with the first going to an 8-6 tiebreaker in an 6-7, 6-4, 1-6 loss. Same for
Felipe Rincon who battled Patrick Wong of Sac State to a 6-3, 1-6, 4-6 loss on Friday.

But on Saturday afternoon Rincon defeated Regnar Madarang of Ventura College 6-1, 6-0 and
Thibaud Maxant also had a 6-1, 6-0 win over Jannes Hauck of Holy Names University.

Jarry also had a win with a 10-6 tiebreaker in what ended up a 6-7, 6-4 win over Mann Shah of Santa Clara. He also topped Alex Lee of Stanford 6-4, 6-1 on Saturday as well.

The Gaels will have another split-squad weekend coming up, with some players at the ITA Regionals October 6 to 10 hosted by Stanford. Other members will play at the UCSB Classic hosted by Santa Barbara
