MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's Men's Soccer begins a stretch of eight-straight road games on Thursday night with a trip to San Jose, followed by a Monday night match up at UC Irvine.

The start time for Thursday's game with San Jose State was pushed back from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. due to the expected high temperatures in the South Bay on Thursday. The SJSU Women's Soccer Team will play before the men's game, so both start times were pushed back and the men's game will begin approximately 30 minutes after the women's game is completed.

ABOUT SAN JOSE STATE
The Spartans played to a 1-1 draw with WCC member San Francisco and fell 4-0 on the road at No. 3 Stanford.
Joel Garcia gave San José State an early lead at San Francisco and leads the Spartans with two goals.

Kasper Poulsgaard was named to the 2022 preseason All- Western Athletic Team announced on Wednesday. Poulsgaard was first team All-WAC at the end of last season.
The senior from Hedendsted, Denmark has been a mainstay in the Spartan backline in recent years and has contributed on the offensive end. Poulsgaard scored three goals last season including the game winner in the upset win over Grand Canyon.
The Spartans were slated to finish sixth in the preseason poll, totaling 43 points. The Gaels won last year's meeting 4-2 in Moraga. SMC is 14-17-2 all time versus San Jose State.

UC Irvine won a share of its sixth Big West regular-season title in 2021, their second conference title under head coach
