BVB | Gaels Get Set For Four Bay Area Clashes in Three Days

MORAGA, Calif. — It's going to be another busy week for Saint Mary's Beach Volleyball (8-7), as they will square off with conference foes San Francisco (4-8) and Pacific (0-13) on Saturday before heading to Stanford to take on the No. 3 Cardinal (12-2) and the Dons once again on Monday.
The last time out, the Gaels took one of three at the Sand Jose Invitational, defeating Sacramento State 4-1, before narrowly falling to both Utah and San Jose State in a pair of 3-2 decisions. On the weekend, the #4 pairing of AJ Slojkowski and Karmin Brown went unbeaten.
The San Francisco Dons are 4-8, with only two of their wins coming against Division I opponents. Head Coach Diogo Silva is in his third season leading the Dons Beach program (also has served as the Head Indoor Coach in that time), and has already matched his highest win total this season. The young pairing of freshman Jette Morris and sophomore McKenna Towne have been the most consistent duo for the Dons this season. Saint Mary's is 25-2 all-time vs the Dons, having not lost to them since 2016.
Pacific is still hunting for their first win of the season, having won just six sets all season. Tiger Shelton, freshly hired in February of this year, is the aptly named head coach of the Tigers. Josephine Kinlan and Ashley Davies have more set wins than any other Tiger pair this season. Kinlan paired with current Gael Sedona Sherman with the Tigers last season. The Gaels are 19-3 all-time against the Tigers, and haven't lost to them since 2015.
The third ranked Stanford Cardinal enter the week with a 12-2 record and their only losses coming to second ranked UCLA and tenth ranked Arizona State. Andrew Fuller is in his eighth season at the helm, having taken his team to three straight national tournaments. Taylor Wilson and freshman phenom Ruby Sorra have gone 11-3 out of the two spot for the Cardinal. The Cardinal lead the all-time series 14-8, with the Gaels last win coming in 2019.
