MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's Men's Soccer team has announced their Conference schedule for the 2024 season with four home games during WCC play.
The Gael's Conference will start on September 28th on the road, as they take on back-to-back WCC Men's Soccer Champions San Diego.
Saint Mary's will host their first Conference match against LMU on October 5. SMC finished out the 2023 season by defeating LMU 1-0 to guarantee a fourth place finish, one spot above the Lions. The Lions will be looking for revenge to take down the Gaels to begin Conference play as SMC has finished just ahead of LMU back-to-back years. This rivalry game is followed by another home game on October 9, by new WCC foe Oregon State. The Beavs are coming off of a second place finish in the final season of the Pac-12.
Starting on October 12, SMC will be on the road for their next two conference games, taking on co-champions Santa Clara and third place finisher Portland.
The Gaels have a quick turnaround as they come back to Moraga taking on Gonzaga at 1:00 p.m. on November 2 and USF on November 9 at 1:00 p.m. Saint Mary's was upset by Gonzaga in Spokane last year, and will hope to avenge that loss in front of their home crowd this season. The matchup with USF will be the final home match of the season, and thus will be marked as Senior Day.
Saint Mary's will finish off the season taking on the University of the Pacific in Stockton, hoping to keep momentum rolling as they look to make their first postseason bid since 2019.
