WXC | Gaels Head to Stump Invite for the First Time Since 2019

MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's women's cross country team will be competing at the Stump Invite which will be held at Putah Creek, Davis. The women will run a 5k and begin at 10:00AM.
GAEL RECAP
At the USF invite, the Gaels placed fifth overall with junior Kaylee Barnes being the first SMC competitor to cross the finish line with a time of 20:42.4 (new PR). Barnes was the only non-Stanford runner to place in the top five, just 1.4 seconds behind Cardinal third place finisher and 4.5 seconds in front of their fifth place finisher. She jumped nine spots from the 2k split to the finish taking fourth overall.
Eleanor Jepsen came in at 22:15.0, jumping from 48th to 24th and Luna Mole finished 32nd with a time of 22:25.5. Saint Mary's secured the 39th and 40th spots with Klara Frih finishing 22:29.8 and Elle Shrader 1.4 seconds behind Frih.
ABOUT THE RACE
The Putah Creek Cross Country Course will consist of approximately 2k dirt loops. The last time the Gaels competed in the Stump Invite was in 2019, where they placed 4th overall.
