SAN BRUNO, Calif. - For the first time in her collegiate career, junior forward Sydney Middaugh was named this week's WCC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals in the Gaels road win over San Diego. Middaugh finished the match with 77 minutes played and scored in the 38th and 62nd minute en route to the team's ninth win of the season. To cap off a stellar week for the surging Gaels, Saint Mary's stayed on the road and took down conference leaders Pepperdine 1-0 for their tenth shutout of the season, pulling within two points of the Waves in the conference standings.
