WSOC | Gaels on the Rise, Saint Mary’s Receiving Votes in this Week’s United Soccer Coaches Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time since 2021, the Saint Mary's women's soccer team is receiving votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll. The Gaels are the only West Coast Conference team featured in the poll as they enter the week with an impressive 10-2-3 overall record and a 5-1-2 record in the WCC. Two conference road wins last week helped get them on the national stage including a shutout victory over conference leaders Pepperdine, 1-0.
The Gaels are just two points back of the Waves in the conference standings, seeking their first ever WCC title in program history. The last time Saint Mary's was featured inside the top-25 of the United Soccer Coaches poll was back in 2002 when they were ranked 16th in the national preseason poll. The last time they were receiving votes was in October of 2021 following a double overtime draw to no.3 Pepperdine, Romagnolo's first full season with the program following COVID-19 in 2020.
