MORAGA, Calif. - Saint Mary's returned to Moraga after a heartbreaking defeat to Santa Clara on Thursday and fell to 56th ranked San Diego 4-0. The Toreros extended their win streak over the Gaels to seven matches dating back to 2018. USD took the doubles point with wins over Iman Khan/Olivia Rook and Tiana Fox/Madison Weekley before winning the first three singles matches to complete the shutout. 

Stefanie Silva played tough all day for the Gaels, taking a set with Juliette Daries in their doubles match and then starting her third set tied at one against Gabby Gregg. Madison Weekley was also knotted at one against Anni Puls, winning the opening set 6-0 and leading 2-1 in the third before the match was called. Daries also took on 28th ranked Kailey Evans and won the first set 6-4. Saint Mary's falls to 1-4 in WCC play and will look to regroup with a non-conference match against Grand Canyon next Friday.
