COLUMBIA, Mo. - The early morning tee times saw the second round draw to a close as the Gaels concluded their round from the afternoon on Monday.
Avery Lazarski and
Connor Reis piggy-backed off their stellar performances yesterday, with Lazarski finishing two-under, while Reis trailed his teammate by just a stroke at one-under.
The Gaels jumped into second place after their second round, with a team total of (+7), only two shots behind the host institution, the Missouri Tigers (+5). Saint Mary's would record the only team round under-par in round two shooting a 279 (-1).Â
The Gaels would continue their momentum into the third round and hold on to second place as the tournament concluded, recording their third top-five finish out of their last four events.
Connor Reis had the second-best round of the entire tournament as he shot a 67 (-3), where he racked up four birdies, three of which came on the back nine. Reis's stellar performance would jump him 15 spots on the individual leaderboard good for t-5th at two-over par.Â
Teammates
Avery Lazarski,
Aidan Lee, and
Zack Missigman also all concluded the tournaments in the top 16. Lee with a t-8th finish at three-over par, Lavarski a t-13th finish at four-over par, and Missigman a t-16th finish at five-over par. As a group, the Gaels limited blow up holes and were able to keep themselves in the hunt all week. They finished second in the field in par four scoring (4.08) and were first in total pars with 185 over the three rounds. Missouri held on to win the event at even par as no team finished in red figures and only three team rounds of under-par were recorded on the week.Â

LOOKING AHEADÂ
The Gaels have a short week as they jump straight back into action on Friday, April 11th. They will head just north of Moraga up to Macero, California, as they compete in the El Macero Classic hosted by UC Davis. The Gaels will try to build off their seventh top-five and third top-three finish of the year with the conference championships right around the corner.Â
