MORAGA, Calif. - Redshirt sophomore
Kate Plachy has been on a heater between the posts as of late, recording her third and fourth shutout of the season in wins over UC Davis and Hawaii to be named this week's Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week. Plachy recorded four saves in the team's 3-0 win over Hawaii Sunday afternoon and then needed just one save to help seal their one-goal victory over the Aggies earlier in the week.
Plachy leads the WCC with four shutouts and ranks eighth in all of Division I. She also continues to climb further into the program's top-ten, sitting in a tie for seventh place with ten career shutouts. Saint Mary's has now won four straight games for the first time since 2023 and recorded four consecutive shutouts for the first time since the 2015 season. The Gaels will finish out their non-conference schedule on the east coast with games against Navy and 16th ranked Georgetown on Thursday and Sunday of this week.
