GAELS OUTLOOK
The Gaels improved to 4-1-1 this past week with two impressive wins over the Aggies and Rainbow Wahine. Things got underway Thursday evening when Saint Mary's traveled to Davis and kept the pressure on throughout the match, outshooting the Aggies 19-5. The game was decided in the 61st minute when senior forward
Briana Salvetti fought through two defenders and finished off a header to give the Gaels a one-goal lead.
On Sunday afternoon, the Gaels hosted Hawaii who was picked to win the Big West in the 2025 preseason coaches poll after claiming the 2024 regular season title. Once again, the Gaels looked sharp offensively and netted three goals for their fourth multi-goal game of the season. Goals came from across the board with freshman
Ashlyn Vaughn and seniors
Jessie Hawes and
Savannah Schwarze finding the back of the net, giving them the 3-0 victory.
In goal, redshirt sophomore keeper
Kate Plachy recorded her tenth career shutout to move into a tie for seventh place all-time in program history. Plachy had a combined five saves over her two games and was named the department's Student-Athlete of the Week. Saint Mary's has now won four straight games for the first time since 2023 and recorded four consecutive shutouts for the first time since the 2015 season.
Series History…
This weekend's games will mark the Gaels' ever meetings with both Navy and Georgetown. It also marks Saint Mary's first east coast road trip since 2018 when they had matches against Vermont and Maine. The Gaels came away with a pair of dramatic overtime wins on that road trip, 3-2 in double overtime over Vermont and 2-1 in a single overtime period over Maine.

Entering her 33rd season with Navy, Carin Garbarra has received Patriot League Coach of the Year five times throughout her career, the most recent being in the 2020-2021 season. Navy was selected to finish fourth in this year's preseason poll behind Bucknell, Army West Point and Boston U.
ABOUT GEORGETOWN (Big East)

David Nolan is opening up his 22nd season as Georgetown's head coach. In 2018, he led the team to be ranked number two in the country, finishing the season with only one loss against North Carolina in the College Cup semifinals.
Prior to the season, Georgetown's Maja Lardern was one of 43 players named to the 2025 Women's Hermann Trophy Watch List.
