BVB | Gaels Best Aggies, Take a Point From Top Ranked Stanford
4/1/2026 6:59:00 PM | Women's Beach Volleyball
STANFORD, Calif. — Saint Mary's beach volleyball continued its reign of dominance against unranked foes, moving to 18-3 against teams not appearing in the AVCA Top-25, with a 3-2 win over UC Davis, while also putting up a competitive performance against the top ranked team in the land, the Stanford Cardinal, falling 4-1 Wednesday afternoon. The Gaels now sit at 19-9 overall, just one win shy of their program record for wins in a single season.
The Gaels opened up the day with a pair of hard fought three set wins, as Clarissa Klein and Angelina Bour at the twos and Bella Reyes and Isla Johnson at the fours set the tone early. Barett Nolan and Hannah Glick won the fives in straight sets to move to 15-1 for the year, and clinched the dual win for the Gaels. The Aggies would bring the score closer, winning the ones and threes, but win number 19 on the season had already been secured by the Gaels.
Hannah Couch and Clarissa Klein battled to a triumphant three set victory in the twos against top ranked Stanford, but that was all for the Gaels in match two of the day, as the Cardinal defended their home sand with a 4-1 victory. Klein and Couch remain unbeaten while playing together this season, moving to a perfect 3-0.
The Gaels will have a brief day off before heading to Sacramento to take on Concordia Irvine and Sacramento State on Friday.
