SB | Gaels Rise 14th in DI Softball Mid-Major Top-25, Check in at No. 16 in Softball America Mid-Major Power Rankings

LOS ANGELES & MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — Fresh off of their first three ranked wins since 2017, the Saint Mary's softball team has jumped seven spots to 14th in the latest DI Softball Mid-Major top-25, and come in ranked 16th in the latest Softball America Mid-Major Power Rankings. This is the third time this year that the Gaels have appeared in D1 Softball poll, and the second consecutive week that they have earned that recognition, while appearing on Softball America's list for the first time this season..
Saint Mary's made sure they didn't become complacent in their West Coast Conference bye week this past weekend, taking part in the Stanford Round Robin, featuring the host 24th ranked Cardinal and the 14th ranked Washington Huskies. The Gaels avenged their loss to the Huskies earlier this season, not once, but twice, defeating them 5-2 and 3-2 in 11 innings. The Gaels also split their two meetings with the Cardinal winning the event finale 5-1 over their hosts. Two weeks into the WCC season, the Gaels sit tied atop the standings at 3-0 after sweeping the Pacific Tigers two weeks ago.
