PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S
Irwin brings with him plenty of experience to contribute to this new program. In 2025, Irwin competed for the New Zealand under-20 national team in the World Championships. While competing on that team, he was named in the Canberra Water Polo Academy Second Seven at the 2025 Australia Cup in Canberra. In that same year, he received New Zealand's ASB Young Sportsperson Award for Water Polo and was the runner up for Young Sportsman of the Year. Irwin also was named the 2025 MVP for the under-18 National Club Championships while competing for Sea Wolf Water Polo Club.
