PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S: Pitched for one of the top softball programs in the state of Texas, Smithson Valley, just north of San Antonio...Known as a drop ball pitcher who delivers her pitches with high spin rate to keep batters off balance...Went 36-11 in her high school career with a career ERA of 2.00...Fanned 365 batters and walked just 55 in 297 innings...Bats left handed despite pitching right handed, and hit 0.345 for her prep career, with 16 home runs and 104 RBI...Earned an all-state nod after hitting eight home runs, driving in 44, and going 10-6 with 150 strikeouts as a sophomore...Was named the district pitcher of the year as a junior and senior...Helped Smithson Valley to three straight district titles, making it all the way to the state semifinals in her senior year.
