Jamie Haas

Haas will be entering her third season as assistant coach of the Gaels following her hire during the summer of 2019. She had spent the previous three seasons as a member of the coaching staff at Fresno State.

Haas, formerly Jamie Pawid, is a Gael alumna herself and played at Saint Mary’s from 2014-2016. Haas was named First Team All-WCC in singles play twice during her three seasons in Moraga while also receiving Second Team recognition in doubles and another singles honorable mention nod.

While at Saint Mary's, Haas topped out at the No. 38 singles ranking in the nation and also reached No. 59 in doubles play. At the WCC Championship tournament, she twice was named to the singles All-Tournament team in 2014-15 and was selected as a doubles honorable mention in 2015. Haas also helped the Gaels reach the No. 33 ranking as a team according to the ITA.

While at Fresno State, Haas helped the Bulldogs claim the school’s second ever Mountain West Championship in 2018. During her first season as an assistant coach, the Bulldogs went 14-9 despite a tough non-conference schedule with four ranked opponents.

Prior to Saint Mary's, Haas played her freshman season at Hawai'i. There she was named WAC Freshman of the Year, helped her team win the conference, and made First Team All-WAC in both singles and doubles.

Born in Honolulu, Haas attended high school in the Bay Area at Castro Valley. She ranked as high as No. 22 as a prep according to the Tennis Recruiting Network before committing to Hawai’i.

Haas resides in Moraga with her husband, Prycen, and their daughter, Shado Kalani, who was born in February 2019.
