Saint Mary's completed the Cal Winter Invite on Sunday in Berkeley with a number of close matches.
BERKELEY, Calif. — Saint Mary's wrapped up their three-day tournament at Cal on Sunday with close matches in both singles and doubles play.
THE ACTION
The Gaels played Fresno State three times on the doubles' courts and forced close matches but came up just short in each. Clementine Clement and Aubane Ville had the longest match of all three duos as they narrowly fell, 7-5.
In singles play, Saint Mary's squared off with a tough Cal team but ultimately dropped all five matches. Clement, Hind Abdelouahid, and Chloe Goyette faced opponents ranked among the top-60 and came close to taking a set against each Golden Bear. Ville and Jordan Harris battled to three sets against their respective competition.
