No. 8 Saint Mary's will travel to Santa Clara on Saturday at 7 p.m. for their first conference match of the season.
MORAGA, Calif. — No. 8 Saint Mary's will look to earn their third straight shutout as they travel to Santa Clara on Saturday to open West Coast Conference play against the Broncos at 7 p.m.

The Gaels are currently 9-1 this season as they head into Saturdays' match and are coming off a dominating 5-0 victory over Northern Illinois to finish their non conference schedule on a high note. SMC had a strong offensive performance throughout the match as Boyd Curry got the Gaels on the board after scoring just 71 seconds into the contest. Anders Engebretsen, Joseph Restani, Jake Rudel, and Sebastian Scacht each followed suit with a tally of their own while the Gaels outshot the Huskies 15-5.
Engebretsen continues to lead the team on the national leaderboard as he ranks tied for second in total points with 25, which is just five points back of tying UCLA's Milan Iloksi for first. Engebretsen also ranks tied for fourth with seven assists and tied for sixth in goals with nine. Joseph Restani follows close behind Engebretsen as he has recorded seven goals so far this season.
As a team, Saint Mary's has moved up two spots in the rankings to eighth in the nation for their robust offense as they have outscored their opponents 164-78 in 10 matchups.
