WTEN | Gaels Cruise to 5-0 Win over Fresno State

Saint Mary's dominated in both singles and doubles play on Saturday to pick up their first win of the spring.
EUGENE, Ore. — Saint Mary's (1-3) earned their first win of the season on Saturday with a resounding 5-0 win over Fresno State on neutral court to hand the Bulldogs their first loss of the year (2-1).
Jordan Harris and Aubane Ville earned the team's first win of the day with a 6-3 result on the doubles' court and were closely followed by Clementine Clement and Chloe Goyette who defeated their opposition, 6-4, to claim the doubles' point. Hind Abdelouahid and Mariia Kozyreva were up 5-4 on the No. 1 court before the match was called.
Saint Mary's also had a clean sweep on the singles side as three Gaels picked up big wins. On the No. 1 court, Kozyreva squared off with Jennifer Timotin and won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Clement and Goyette each earned 6-1, 6-4 victories in the No. 2 and No. 4 slots, respectively, while Abdelouahid and Ville had big leads before their contests went unfinished.
Fresno State forfeited the No. 6 singles match and did not send a player to face Liesl Pieters.
