MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (6-7, 3-0 WCC) rolled to their fifth straight victory on Friday as they defeated No. 43 Loyola Marymount (5-5, 0-2 WCC) with a score of 4-2 on their home court.

The Gaels earned the doubles point with 6-3 wins on the top two courts. Clementine Clement and Chloe Goyette secured a victory after LMU won Court 3 and Mariia Kozyreva and Hind Abdelouahid finalized the point against the Lions' top tandem.

Kozyreva, this week's Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the week, continued her dominance this season with a 6-2, 6-0 win in the No. 1 singles slot to move to 8-2 this spring. Goyette played her first singles match as the Gaels' No. 2 and comfortably won, 6-1, 6-0.

Freshman Liesl Pieters battled into three sets on Court 5 to cement the match for Saint Mary's. The Belgian won 6-3 in her first set before dropping the second, 6-0. Pieters remained tough however in set three with a 6-3 result for her fourth singles win of the year.
