Saint Mary's completed their perfect weekend without dropping a set as they took down Sacramento State on Sunday.
MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (8-8, 4-1 WCC) made quick work of a depleted Sacramento State team on Sunday to sweep the weekend without dropping a single set.
Mariia Kozyreva and Hind Abdelouahid improved to 7-1 together this season with a dominating 6-1 win on Court 1 and the Hornets forfeited the match on Court 3 to give Saint Mary's the doubles point.
Liesl Pieters won her fourth straight match as the Gaels' No. 5 player with a 6-0, 6-1 decision and Mariia Kozyreva breezed to a 6-3, 6-0 win against Sac State's No. 1 Maria Gonzalez to seal the victory for SMC. All 10 of Kozyreva's singles wins this season have come in straight sets.
The Hornets had to forfeit the match on Court 6 due to lack of competitors.
