BERKELEY, Calif. – The third and final day of the Cal Fall Invite took place on Sunday, which saw the Gaels duo of
Stefanie Silva and
Gabriela Tevez claim victory in the white consolation bracket.
After a solid performance in the consolation semi-finals the day prior, Tevez and Silva play a dominant match of doubles tennis, besting the UC Davis duo of Madeline Page and Claire Galerkin 8-4.
Jordan Harris and
Lene Mari Hovda were also in action on the doubles court, squaring up against the Stanford pairing of Valencia Xu and Ana Geller in the gold final. Despite a strong start from the Gaels, the Stanford pair were able to force a few late breaks, and eventually win the match 8-5.
On the singles side, Oliva Rook was in action in the gold consolation bracket. After a comfortable win against Sacramento State's Julia Moraes on Saturday, Rook faced off against Cal Poly's Kennedy Buntrock in the semifinals Sunday morning. Rook was able to get off to strong start, but Buntrock quickly found a groove, eventually besting Rook 6-4, 6-3.
Jordan Harris was active in the singles bracket as well, facing off against University of the Pacific's MiaAngelina Ruja in the blue consolation semi-finals. Ruja got off to a quick start and never looked back, besting Harris 6-2, 6-3.
