MORAGA, Calif. - Saint Mary's picked up win number one of the spring 2026 season in their home opener on Friday, sweeping Dominican 7-0 at Timothy Korth Tennis Complex. Juniors Sofia Daryaie and Elif Tuana Gunal teamed up in doubles play to defeat Dominican's duo 6-1 while Madison Weekley and true freshman Sophie Stanton clinched the doubles point with a clean 6-0 sweep. Stanton competed for the second consecutive weekend after making her collegiate debut at the Cal Winter Invite last week.
Weekley, Daryaie and Stanton all recorded clean sweeps in their individual matches en route to the dominant victory over the Penguins. Elif Tuana Gunal also pulled off a dramatic two-set singles win, winning the second set on a tiebreaker to finish her day a combined 2-0.
