TUCSON, Ariz. - Saint Mary's put together three solid rounds at the 2026 N.I.T. and earned themselves a share of fourth place at 20-under-par. The Gaels closed out the remainder of the second round early in the morning and held onto third place and then posted a 5-under final round to finish in a tie for fourth with no. 27 BYU.
For the second time this week, all four counting scores for the Gaels finished even par or better. Redshirt freshman Sam Baumuller was the low man with a final round of 69 (-3) while veterans Aidan Lee and Mitchell Hoey each carded 71's. Baumuller held on for a top-10 finish individually on the week as the team's low scorer, concluding his three rounds at 7-under-par. Avery Lazarski recorded three birdies to work around an early double and finish even par as the fourth counting score.
The top-five finish for Saint Mary's is the fourth of the 2025-26 season as they recorded three such finishes during their fall campaign. Full tournament results and leaderboards can be found HERE.
