SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Ben Griset of the Saint Mary's baseball team has been named the West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office. Griset is the second SMC pitcher to be named WCC Pitcher of the Week, joining Ryan Brockett.

The junior LHP hurled a complete game shutout at San Francisco on Thursday, March 28th. In 9.0 innings, Griset allowed four hits, two walks, no runs and struck out 10. He threw 113 pitches, 77 for strikes.

This was Griset's second complete game of the year. He also had a 130 pitch, 97 strikes CG against Utah Valley, striking out 12, walking one and shutting out UVU.

Griset lowered his team-leading ERA to a 1.76 mark.

Saint Mary's hosts San Jose State on Wednesday, before taking on the Hoyas of Georgetown over the weekend. All home games are played at Louis Guisto Field on the SMC campus.
