SB | Gaels Fall To Nevada in Doubleheader

Saint Mary's dropped both contests to the Wolf Pack on Sunday.
MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (2-13) fought hard against Nevada in the doubleheader on Sunday, but ultimately dropped both contests to the Pack.
Game 1
Nevada 2, Saint Mary's 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dylan Linton had a successful game at the plate as went 3-for-3 with three singles collecting three of the four total hits for the Gaels. Kimiko Zapanta recorded her first hit of the season and the fourth hit of the contest off a single to the pitcher in the seventh inning. Jayda Alaan and Kalissa Heihn each collected a walk in the bottom of the third, which were the lone walks of the game.
In the circle, Eileen Perez pitched in all seven innings and only allowed two walks during the contest. The sophomore recorded eight strikeouts, which is her season-high for the Gaels.
Nevada collected two runs during the contest in the second and seventh innings. The Wolf Pack tallied seven hits in the matchup including a homer by Dallas Millwood in the second inning, which is good for her second of the season.
Game 2
Nevada 9, Saint Mary's 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
After an hour delay due to weather conditions, the game resumed at the top of the second inning. Bailey Lotz got the second game going for the Gaels with a single to left field for the first hit of the game on the bottom of the second. Nikki Alexander collected the Gaels' second hit after singling to left center field.
Sofia Earle started in the circle for game two and pitched four total innings. After bringing in Eryn McCoy for the top of the fifth, Eileen Perez entered in the same inning to throw in relief for the remainder of the contest.
The game finished after five innings as Nevada (13-8) picked up nine runs in the fifth to sweep the doubleheader.
