LOS ANGELES — Saint Mary's (0-2) forced close matches on Saturday in their second contest of the season but could not overcome No. 4 UCLA (3-0) as the Bruins came out on top over the Gaels, 7-0.

In singles action, No. 15 Mariia Kozyreva put up a hard fight as she kept a close match against No. 14 Elysia Bolton but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-3 as the top singles seed. Danielle McIntyre also battled hard on Court 4 but was unable to defeat her opponent and fell, 6-3, 6-2.

On doubles courts, Chloe Goyette and Jordan Harris paired up to face off against Bruin tandem Forbes/Goulak and picked up two points in the first set before the match went unfinished. UCLA would go on to ultimately secure two doubles victories on Courts 1 and 3.

Saint Mary's will travel to Sacramento on Tuesday to face off against the Hornets at 2 p.m.
