WTEN | Eight Wins for Gaels Day Two of Cal Winter Invite

BERKELEY, Calif. - Saint Mary's Women's Tennis took two out of three matches against Santa Clara University in the doubles section and five of seven matches with Cal Poly in singles at the Channing Tennis Courts at Cal on Saturday.
The combo of Jordan Harris and Gabriela Tevez defeated Jamie Schroer and Varya Zlotnik 8-4 and Jocelyn Massey and Lene Mari Hovda beat Cami Brown and Lindsey Pesqueira 8-5.
On the singles side No. 74 Mariia Kozyreva defeated Kim Bhunu 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 and Jordan Harris topped Laura Bente 3-6, 7-5, 7-6(3). The Gaels also had victories from Lene Mari Hovda over Emily Ackerman 6-3, 6-2 and Jocelyn Massey beat Melissa LaMette 6-2, 6-1. And rounding out the great performance from the Gaels in singles was Stefanie Silva's win against Shreya Ravilla 6-1, 6-4.
The tournament started an hour late on day one due to due to a damp court in the morning from fog and morning dew, so the matches were intentionally started an hour later at 10 a.m. on Saturday, but the matches will start at their original 10 a.m. time on Sunday.
