| Box Score 2 EUGENE, Ore. – Saint Mary's Women's Tennis earned a split in their two dual-match play contests at the University of Oregon over the weekend, defeating the University of Idaho
6-1 on Saturday before the Ducks outlasted the Gaels in a 4-1 defeat on Sunday.
 
SMC took on Idaho on day one of their two-match trip in Oregon for a neutral site match, with the Gaels dominating the Vandals first by taking the doubles point. Jordan Harris and Mariia Kozyreva took down Ke Syuan Jhang and Ines Oliveira 6-3 and Julia Ronney and Jocelyn Massey defeated Melissa Huchet and Jayanne Palma 6-4 as head coach Simon Harston has found some good combos in his doubles tandems.
 
The Gaels took five of six singles matches with all of the singles battles only going to two sets. No. 36 Kozyreva defeated Melissa Huchet in straight sets 6-0, 6-0, Harris took down Andrea Redondo 6-2, 6-2, Lene Mari Hovda topped Saffron Dowse also by a score of 6-2, 6-2, Massey beat Palma 6-0, 6-2 and freshman Olivia Rook defeated Nicole Horaceck 6-4, 6-3.
 
On day two the Ducks made things difficult for the Gaels in sweeping the doubles match ups. And though the Gaels ace Kozyreva asserted her dominance against the Ducks Sophie Luescher with a 6-1, 6-0 victory the No. 35 Gaels took the rest of the singles matches to secure the 6-1 victory.
 
Nonetheless that's two wins in their last three matches for the Gaels as they ramp up for WCC play.
