MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's Women's Tennis finally got to host a dual match at home at the Korth Tennis Courts and got a 5-2 win over San Jose State Wednesday afternoon. The anticipation and excitement of getting to play at home was noticeable and carried into the matches against the Spartans.
The party got started with the Gaels taking the doubles point as the No. 44 tandem in the country of Mariia Kozyreva and Jordan Harris defeated Oleksan Andrieiva and Lara Marco Mas 6-2, and Jocelyn Massey and Julia Ronney beat Rozalina Youseva and Irena Muradyan 6-3.
Julia Ronney got the first singles match win in convincing fashion by defeating Youseva 6-1, 6-0. Massey defeated Marco Mas 6-0, 6-1 and Lene Mari Hovda beat Muradyan 6-2, 6-1, as the Gaels had sealed the match at that point.
No. 63 Kozyreva topped Alba Pedrero Galindo 7-6 (3), 6-1 to get the Gaels fifth point before the Spartans won the last two matches. That's now five wins in a row for Hovda, Massey, and Kozyreva.

The Gaels will host another Wednesday matinee with UCLA in town at 1:00 p.m. on March 23 in Moraga.
