Biography

AS A 5TH YEAR (2021): Appeared in 11 matches starting 9 of them ... received WCC Defensive Player of the Week in the first week of the season ... was 3rd in the conference in goals against average (.762), save percentage (.778), and shutouts per game (.364) ... had a career high 8 saves facing 15 shots against LMU ... had 4 shutouts including back to back against Stanford and Portland ... faced 15 shots in that Stanford shutout. 

AS A SENIOR (2020): Started all nine matches (season played during spring of 2021) … named All-WCC Honorable Mention … named WCC Defensive Player of the Week on Mar. 9 for his shutout against San Diego … played all but one half in goal and fourth on the team in total minutes … faced 93 shots, saving 30 … was second in the WCC in saves … recorded three solo shutouts and one combined … had a goals-against average of 1.02 and save percentage of .769 … made a season-high five saves against LMU on Apr. 11 … posted a 5-2-1 record.

AS A JUNIOR (2019): Made one appearance for the Gaels during the season … made his collegiate debut and played 40 minutes of action in a 5-1 win against Portland on Nov. 16 … tallied three saves in the contest.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2018): Did not appear in any matches for the Gaels.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017): Did not see any action as a true freshman.

PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S: Native of Simi Valley, Lapinid played his club soccer for the LA Galaxy Conejo Valley... In his one season with the Galaxy, Lapinid helped the squad claim the title at the Irvine World Cup and Ventura County Fusion Tournament... He played 29 games, collected 70 saves and 2,000 minutes played for Royal High School... Son of Daniel and Maria Lapinid, Nicholas has one sibling, Lauren... Plans to major in health science, with the post-graduate plan of becoming an athletic trainer.
