Moraga, CA- Saint Mary's freshman midfielder Carlos Diaz (Napa, CA) was invited to attend the U.S. Under-20 National Team Training Camp in Sunrise, FL. The camp began on Tuesday, March 7 and will last until Monday, March 13.
Diaz put together a freshman campaign for the record books. The newcomer was named to the West Coast Conference First-Team after leading the conference in assists with 11 and his 15 points was second in the league.
His 11 assists were the most handed out by a freshman in the country. The 11 assists also marks a single-season school record as he broke the old mark of nine set by Juan Guarda (1990), Adam Bliss (1990) and Jon Hinkin (1988).
