WSOC | Saint Mary’s Announces 2026 Schedule; Home Opener Set for August 16 vs. Fresno State

MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's women's soccer team announced its full 2026 fall schedule with the Gaels kicking things off on the road against Long Beach State on Wednesday, August 12. The Gaels will then return to Saint Mary's Stadium for their home opener against Fresno State and UC Davis on August 16 and 20.
The 2026 schedule features ten home and nine away contests including the return of a home-and-home series with national powerhouse Georgetown. The Gaels will host the Hoyas on August 23 after upsetting them on the road as the 16th ranked team in the country last year in what was their first ever matchup. Of the team's ten non-conference matches, seven are new additions from the 2025 season. Notable matchups include Long Beach State, now Big Ten member USC, a two-game home stand with Columbia and Northern Arizona as well as Mountain West foe Utah State as the team's final non-conference match on September 20.
West Coast Conference play is slated to start on September 26 with a road match against first-year WCC member Denver. The two programs will meet for just the fifth time and the first since 2013. The Gaels' five home conference matchups feature San Francisco, LMU, San Diego, Seattle U and Pepperdine in the regular season finale on November 7. New to the 2026 season, the WCC will introduce its first ever conference tournament which will feature the top four teams at the end of the regular season. The highest seed will host each match with the championship game slated for Saturday, November 14 prior to the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday.
